It’s been a while since we ran through the latest deals and financings. There haven’t really been many to report anyway. Nonetheless, let’s take a look at who’s been paid recently…

*Taigen of course did a deal for their antibiotic, which we briefly noted yesterday. Next. FierceBiotech

*InterMed Discovery got about $10M in an equity deal with a Malaysian fund called Biotropics Malaysia Berhad (never heard of). EarthTimes

*Merrion Pharmaceuticals did a $55M deal with Novo to develop one of their oral diabetes dugs using Merrion’s GIPET technology. Triangle Business Journal

*Galapagos and GSK expanded their research collaboration…snooze. PharmaLive

*Iconic Therapeutics from Atlanta focuses on cancer and ophthalmology. They just raised $2M+. LocalTechWire

*Cardio3 BioSciences got $17M for their stem cells to treat heart disease. Pharmaceutical Business Review

*Myriad Pharmaceuticals bought a Phase 2 HIV drug from Panacos for a measly $7M. The drug, Bevirimat, has had some development issues. Panacos meanwhile has been a victim of the “restructuring” boot. CNN Money

*Hydra Biosciences raised $22M from top investors for their ion channel programs. Xconomy

*Effrx sold its bisphosphonate effervescent to Nycomed in a $59M deal. FierceBiotech
