Venture Update - Oxagen Alive! The UK’s Oxagen is alive. We profiled Oxagen back in January and put them in Graveyard right off the bat. Their website had not been updated in four years so we figured they were dead.

Last week, Oxagen announced they began recruiting for a Phase 2 placebo-controlled study to test OC000459, the company’s CRTH2 antagonist in development for asthma. We should note this is the same mechanism as Actelion’s, but we’re not sure how Oxagen’s program is differentiated.

The trial is recruiting in Eastern Europe and no word as to whether the funding is coming from old investors (i.e. if any of that cash is still left) or if they did a new round.

Oxagen has been around for 12+ years and has eaten more than $100M in investor money, including some from MPM Capital and Abingworth.

Stay tuned…
