Tempers People, Tempers: Vatalanib Not Enough for Patrick Swayze; BiPar – Where Did The Money Go?

In our ongoing coverage of Patrick Swayze’s cancer battle, we are astonished and saddened of what has become of the Dirty Dancing phenom’. Swayze continues his courageous cancer battle with his family at his side despite having tried Novartis’ vatalanib. The actor claims the drug was working for him except he had to stop treatment because of extreme cold sensitivity.
Also, lots of commenters on our first Swayze post have been saying that we shouldn’t bash the Ghost actor because it’s his right to smoke. So, here’s our response:
It’s all good, say what you want: we love all our readers!
Uhhh, smoking is probably why this dude got pancreatic cancer in the first place (btw smoking does significantly increase one’s risk for the disease – like lung cancer);
That’s not weed, homies, it’s Marlboros.
Now, onto BiPar…
Yesterday’s rant about BiPar’s VERY LUCKY deal (yes, we are continuing to say LUCKY!) has sparked quite a controversy amid the comments. Some people say we don’t know what we’re talking about, others are saying they agree with us.
BiPar, if you’re reading this, all we want to know is what have you shown CLINICALLY with the $73M you’ve raised since 04? And, what have you guys been doing since 04 anyway? What are the specifics of the deal? Tell everyone – don’t hide damn it. How much upfront? Let me restate: do you have enough data NOW to justify a press release claiming a $500M buyout? No? OK then.
Tell us and we will love you again. BTW, Bioworld did a good take this morning on the BiPar/Sanofi deal.
Thoughts?

Geesh, leave PS alone.
