Geron Skeptic and Roche/DNA Snag-Bangalore, India-based Cellworks received a $10M investment from an undisclosed U.S. private equity investor. Founded in 2005, Cellworks is working on the iC-PHYS system which enables drug and biomarker R&D. The technology is designed to provide a readout of inter and intra cellular processes and pathways allowing for a “what-if” analysis in an automated high-throughput methodology. The company also has offices based in California. [LiveMint]

-Regenerative medicine company, Cytori Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ: CYTX) raised $10 million in a registered direct offering of 4.8 million units at $2.10. The company also announced this morning that it received a patent covering methods of cooling and cryopreserving stem and regenerative cells processed by the Celution System. [The Earth Times]

-Finally, Stemgent raised $14M earlier this week from HealthCare Ventures and Morgenthaler Ventures. Stemgent plans to sell proprietary reagents, consumable materials and tools for stem cell researchers. [Xconomy]
