Ok, you can’t always trust Cafepharma, but yesterday this thread, titled “Pfizer Alliance”, was posted at 11:44AM:

“Heard a rumor we will copromote with pfizer Ophthalmics…Will we have Xalatan or will they have one of our products and have you heard??????”

I guess you never know, right? That’s why they’re called rumors. Besides who would have known the deal would be announced today? What’s crazy is that this thread was posted under the Bausch & Lomb (B&L) board.

As you guys all know by now, Pfizer announced two deals this morning. The first is a 5-year, U.S.-only, ophthalmics co-promotion deal with B&L. Both companies will co-sell Xalatan, Alrex, Lotemax, Zylet and besifloxacin (under FDA review).

The second deal is with India’s Aurobindo. Pfizer picked up rights to 38 drugs in the United States and 20 in Europe, as well as an additional 11 in France, all of which could bring in $200-250M in sales by 2013. The deal terms were not disclosed.
