There’s nothing like a good ol’ ass-handing-to. That’s what my dad used to say. Oh wait, I think that was a good ol ass-whooping. Anyway, whatever - same difference here because Pacira Pharmaceuticals did just that as they handed out walking papers to 40 employees.

Xconomy got the scoop when they spoke with CEO David Stack. Stack said the axes equal about 36% of Pacira’s workforce. Pacira also canned 18 people back in Dec – just in time for Christmas

Pacira has now reduced their burn rate enough to allow them to advance their pain drug, EXPAREL, a long-acting version of bupivacaine for post-surgical pain.

Dude, the pain market is soooo crowded – another painkiller? Good luck man.
