-Cephalon was in the news twice today: first, Provigil can be addictive and second, Nuvigil (a longer acting Povigil) showed it was effective as adjunctive therapy for treating major depressive disorder in adults with bipolar I disorder. Stock closes up 5.87 or 9.29%. [Yahoo!], [BioSpace]

-Bayer’s Xarelto (rivaroxaban), an anti-clotting drug, may cause bleeding or liver damage: FDA, stock slides to 6-year low. [Bloomberg]

-FDA Accepts IND for Arno Therapeutics’ Pan-DAC / Akt Inhibitor, AR-42. Uh yeah, good luck… [Reuters]

-Pfizer is trying to sell $13.5B in bonds to fund its acquisition of Wyeth. [WSJ Health Blog]

-Finally, Lipitor gets a second shot at life from the USPTO. [Pharmalive]
