BIO 2009

  • The biggest news of the day is BIO. Yeah, it’s that time again, and while this year promises to be lackluster event relative to past years, there’s still projected to be a decent size turnout of 17,000 in Atlanta. The company presentations also start tomorrow with over 180 biotechs and pharmas giving their pitch. Some of the more interesting ones, for us at least, are Amgen, Cell Therapeutics, Crucell, Genentech, Nektar Therapeutics, PTC Therapeutics and a few others. [BIO Annual Meeting Website]

  • European biotechs are falling behind US biotechs in terms of investment and innovation. [Financial Times]

ASCO Watch 2009
