Playing with biotech stocks is not for the faint of heart – it can make (eg DNDN) or break (eg SQNM) you just like that. You gotta do your homework, and even then nothing is certain.
Wild Ride
Take Cell Therapeutics (CTIC), just two months ago the stock was at a nickel. Deal rumors, a Pixantrone rolling NDA and perhaps an impending OPAXIO approval in the EU have been catapulting the stock for weeks now, which rose yesterday to $1.62 before it settled back down at $1.26. The stock closed at 47 cents the previous day.
OPAXIO on YouTube
For CTIC fans, which have established a fan base on our site, we found this YouTube video on Cell Therapeutics that discusses OPAXIO’s mechanism of action. It’s from last August, but has some good animation. There’s also a video of CEO James Bianco presenting at last year’s Invest Northwest conference:
Fansite #2
Finally, we reported earlier this week that CTIC had a fan website at CellTherapeuticsPixantrone which basically posted all the latest relevant public releases and posts from the blogosphere surrounding Pixantrone.
Now it appears that yet another website has popped up called the CTIC View Project Forum. The site, which launched a few days ago and was as an invitation-only, is now open to the public. Created by interested parties and shareholders, the site is strictly for objective, insightful discussions about CTIC with the caveat that webmasters can delete any post that doesn’t cite a source or reference.
Stay tuned for more news on CTIC…
