MedImmune D-Day is…

We wrote last week that MedImmune
would be axing its own within days. Word was that 20-30% of the
sales force would see the exit sign by this week.
Turns out the date is not until…keep reading to the end!!!
MedImmune, which was acquired by AstraZeneca in 2007, makes Synagis, a drug for the prevention of respiratory infections in infants and FluMist, a nasal spray influenza vaccine. The acquisition back then came with a lot of job losses and this is the first, or rumored first, since the mass layoffs of 07.
While sales of FluMist and Synagis have been less than stellar, the company is not all about gloom – the company is hiring quite a bit at its Maryland manufacturing facility.
OK, OK, we suck. We’re hearing D-Day is March 27th. A few hundred should be on the chopping block.
