Match.com for CROs and Drug Developers

Match.com for Contract Drug DevelopersThis is a great idea. Why didn’t we think of this??!! Jae Chung, serial entrepreneur and ex-biz dev at BMS, has officially launched goBalto, an online matching/partnering site for drug companies and CROs.

The aim of the company is to create a premium online resource where users (i.e. drug developers and manufacturers) can quickly find and evaluate drug service providers that offers “improved transparency and better decision making” according to the company.

In the six short months goBalto has been around, its founders have been able to rack up some impressive partners, including Baxter BioPharma Solutions and India’s Intas Biopharmaceuticals.

Through the website, registered users have a flexible interface and are offered a multitude of features, including:

  • Searching and browser tools to screen from more than 7,000 potential providers (investigator sites, CMOs, CROs, and consultants);

  • Lists of potential service providers based on technical capabilities, regulatory compliance, facilities and equipment;

  • Company and vendor ratings and comments;

Check out the site right here. Again, awesome idea.

    Hey guys! Thanks for the shout out. I always thought of goBalto as Yelp meets LinkedIn for Drug developers. But Match.com works for me!

    One minor correction….Prior to goBalto, I co-founded Celltrion, a publicly traded – KOSDAQ (TCKR: 068270:KS) – contract biopharmaceutical group in Asia and headed up their Business Development Group. Was never biz dev at BMS.

    Interesting idea. Thanks for the info.

    the problem with this idea is that the pharma industry is so “High Touch” that not everyone will feel comfortable about sharing ideas without qualifying the vendors.
