- NanoString Technologies has raised $30M in a Series C from Clarus Ventures, OVP Venture Partners and Draper Fisher Jurvetson. The funds, which will be allotted in two different tranches, will be used to advance NanoString’s nCounterâ„¢ Analysis System in the marketplace. The system uses digital technology to identify and quantify genes and molecules that allows for a high degree of multiplexing. [peHUB]
Savara Pharmaceuticals has raised an undisclosed amount in a Series A financing from also undisclosed investors. Savara will use the funds to advance work on its NanoCluster technology, which uses dry powder nanotechnology, as opposed to propellants, to deliver drugs to the lungs. [BizJournals]
Finally, Pique Therapeutics has raised $500,000 as part of a Series A from Piedmont Angel Network and the Wilmington Investors Network to advance its cancer vaccine, PT-107. The company says PT-107 has already demonstrated a survival benefit in an earlier trial in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). [LocalTechWire]
