Kindler on CNBC – You Gotta See This!
February 2, 2009 at 12:35 pm EST | Tags: CEOs & Management, VideoTake a look at Kindler defending the Wyeth deal on CNBC. We gotta give this guy credit for putting up a good front and practically dismissing/marginalizing the 20,000 job cans. Unbelievable.
Kindler had this to say:
“Investors I’ve spoken to are very supportive of the deal; they recognize the strategic value of it, the fact that we’re going to create…a great platform for consistent earnings growth across a diverse range of products. I think the stock performance is not unusual after an acquisition is announced…certainly, the dividend cut had an impact. I can’t get hung up on one week’s performance of the stock – this is a strategic move for a long-term business; we’ve spent the last two years rebuilding and strengthening the company so that we can be ready to do this.”

He also goes on and on about their 2008 performance relative previous years (not taking operating costs into account). This guy is under so much pressure to keep his job it must be insane. We feel for the 20K.
