Huge Swine Flu Contracts
AboundIt was definitely a good day for some of the big guys. Novartis (NVS), GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), Sanofi (SNY) and MedImmune all received BIG orders from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for their H1N1 swine flu vaccines or adjuvants.

The tally is over $800M!!

Here’s the rundown:

  • NVS – $346M for antigen, $343.8M for adjuvant;

  • GSK – $71.4M for adjuvant;

  • SNY – $61.4M for antigen;

  • MedImmune – $61M to test its FluMist nasal vaccine technology in swine flu.

MedImmune received $90M just six weeks ago under a contract to make H1N1 vaccine ingredients.
