*Abbott is acquiring Advanced Medical Optics for $22 a share, or about $2.8 billion including debt. Market Watch

*Goldman Sachs upgraded Pfizer, Inc.from sell to neutral, saying it believes a stock-moving restructuring is now inevitable. The broker told clients that while more cost-cutting is likely, it will not solve the company’s long-term structural problems. (Yikes!) Reuters

*Solta, formerly Thermage Inc., is unveiling a new name today and looking for deals to stay alive. If dermatologists are suffering then we got a prob for sure! WSJ
