CVS Pharmacy Also Getting Sued Over Zicam

Matrixx Initiatives (MTXX), the makers of pulled-from-the-market
anosmia-causing Zicam nasal gels, is not the only one being handed
lawsuits.
Personal injury law firm Sanders Viener Grossman, LLP (SVG) said today that they’ve filed a civil lawsuit against MTXX as well as a lawsuit against CVS which sold the drug/homeopathic/zinc hodgepodge.
The lawsuit, Coleman et al v. Matrixx Intiatives, Inc. et al (Case Number 2:09-cv-2838), alleges that Donald Coleman of Bohemia, N.Y. permanently lost his senses of smell and taste after using Zicam for about one week.
It also says that the Zicam label says “safe and effective” and “patented homeopathic” remedy for cold symptoms.
Marc Grossman, senior partner at SVG said this:
“This is a clear example of an unregulated and unsafe product masquerading as a product that promotes good health. Rather than a minor cold, Mr. Coleman now has a permanent injury that deprives him of enjoying foods and aromas that he loved. The suspected culprit is zinc gluconate, listed as the active ingredient in Zicam products.”
Aromas that he loved???? Btw, never heard of Sanders Viener Grossman…
Poor poor CVS.
