As part of our ongoing layoff watch, we noticed there’s several companies with California offices who are set to hand out pink slips next week.

According to Cali’s WARN layoff law, companies are required to let employees know of the impending pink slips ahead of time.

Here’s the companies that are swinging axes over the next few weeks and the damage number:

• Amgen — 101 employees, 5/1/09

• Elan Pharmaceuticals — 109 employees, 4/27/09

• La Jolla Pharmaceutical – 94 employees laid off this week, 4/20/09

• Valeant Pharmaceuticals – 5 employees, 4/30/09

• Valeant Pharmaceuticals – 2 employees, 5/31/09

• Valeant Pharmaceuticals – 16 employees, 6/30/09
