ASCO is almost here, and so will the triumph and possible destruction of many small biotechs. In the meantime, let’s take a look at who else is on the ASCO 2009 Watch…
Eli Lilly
Eli Lilly will have more than 50 presentations at ASCO, most in the thoracic/lung space. Some of the studies will include further data on ALIMTA (pemetrexed), GEMZAR (gemcitabine), and enzastaurin, an investigational, oral, targeted agent. [Yahoo!Finance]
Abraxis BioScience
Abraxis BioScience (ABII) will showcase several ABRAXANE (paclitaxel protein-bound particles for injectable suspension) studies, including clinical results from 14 company and investigator-sponsored studies. One study of interest will be interim data from an ongoing trial evaluating three dosing regimens of nab-paclitaxel in combination with Avastin (bevacizumab) for first-line treatment of metastatic breast cancer. Genmab
Genmab (GNMSF) said it will be presenting data from Arzerra (ofatumumab), which is currently under review with the FDA, and R1507, an IGF-1R targeted antibody partnered with Roche. [TradingMarkets]
OXiGENE
OXiGENE (OXGN) will present Phase 2 ZYBRESTAT (Fosbretabulin) data, currently in development for platinum-resistant ovarian cancer. [TradingMarkets]
Oncolytics Biotech
Oncolytics Biotech (ONCY) will present results from its multi-centered Phase 2 clinical trial of REOLYSIN in patients with various sarcomas with pulmonary metastases. [PR Newswire]
Medivation
Finally, Medivation (MDVN) will give an oral presentation of Phase 1/2 data from MDV3100, the company’s androgen receptor antagonist for prostate cancer. The title of the presentation is “Antitumor activity of MDV3100 in a Phase 1-2 study of castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC).” [PR Newswire]
