ZIOPHARM Oncology (ZIOP) presented positive data from both Phase II intravenous (IV) and Phase I oral studies of darinaparsin (Zinapar, ZIO-101), the company’s novel organic arsenic molecule. [Yahoo!Finance]
Enzon Pharmaceuticals (ENZN) says its HIF-1 alpha antagonist, EZN-2968, was well tolerated, and showed early signs of clinical benefit and prolonged stable disease in several patients. [Yahoo!Finance]
Genentech confirmed its C-08 study results over the weekend, stating that adding Avastin to chemotherapy for one year did not result in a statistically significant improvement in overall disease-free survival (DFS), the primary endpoint, compared to chemotherapy alone after surgery in patients with early-stage (adjuvant) colon cancer.
